RGS DARE Graduation

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, many parents and friends of the 5th and 6th grade were in attendance at the Rollinsford Grade School for the DARE Graduation.  49 students received certificates after  several months of intense training from DARE instructor Officer Katie O’Brien of the Barrington Police Department.  The guest speaker, Lauryn Douglas of BRC Recovery spoke of her prior struggle with drug addiction and how she eventually made a choice to stop using drugs and how her life has dramatically changed for the better.  She encouraged all to make their own positive choices in life.  Chief Bob Ducharme challenged the graduating students to make a difference and spread the knowledge they had learned to their friends, neighbors and relatives or to anyone that would listen to them about making the correct choices and there is no need for drugs in their life.  Dignitaries in attendance were Principal Kate Lucas, Strafford County Sheriff Dave Dubois,  Barrington Police Bob Williams, and Rollinsford Lt. Jon Uraskevich.

Name Our Newsletter

The Select Board plans to send out a Board/community newsletter with its semi-annual tax bills.   Our inaugural newsletter will appear with the July tax bills and we have asked the Rollinsford Grade School to help us name our newsletter.  The students have picked a slate of candidates and we are now asking the community to chime in on their favorite name.   Please take our quick survey to help choose the newsletter name.

Voting closes on Friday, May 13 and the winning name will be announced on Monday, May 16.

Thanks so much for your feedback!
