The Select Board has noticed that the NHDOT has begun its planned work on Main Street. The project as originally presented to the town this past winter emcompasses maintenance resurfacing of Main Street as well as ensuring handicapped access to/from the sidewalks. The town has not been notified of the current schedule but anticipates that the sidewalk work will be followed by the resurfacing work.
The NHDOT will be starting culvert rehabilitation work on Portland Avenue, just east of Alexander’s Restaurant. District VI engineers met with the Select Board on Monday, December 14 to provide an overview of the project plan and to get a sign-off from the Board. The NHDOT will be building access roads to the terminus of the two large culverts, rehabilitating the culverts, and improving the drainage. Construction and other relevant easements have been received from the affected property owners. The project is expected to start soon and will take several months to complete.
