Updates on the Chinburg Property Development

Severino Trucking Co. Inc has begun the roadwork at the Chinburg property behind St. Mary’s Church.   Severino’s normal work hours are Monday thru Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm; occasionally they may need to work beyond 5:00.   They do not expect to work weekends.  There is ledge in a couple of locations; they will first try to remove the ledge without blasting.  Should they need to blast they will use the town’s blasting notification process which includes a pre-blast survey of property within 250 feet.

The town has hired Jay Stephens of Civil Consultants (South Berwick) to oversee the roadwork construction.  His costs will be reimbursed by Chinburg Properties, Inc.  Mr. Stephens held a pre-construction meeting with representatives from Severino, Chinburg and the town (Police, Fire, Highway, Selectboard), to review the roadwoark schedule and process.   Severino expects to complete the roadwork within a couple of months.

On Monday, June 23, the Select Board approved a building permit application from Chinburg Properties to build a house on the development site.  It is possible that the house construction will occur before the road is completely built.
